Marty on the Issues
The primary responsibility of county government is the safety and security of its citizens. Having started my service as a volunteer firefighter at age 18 and later serving as a Captain with the same department, I have stood on the front lines and understand the challenges our first responders and justice system face every day.
- Supporting our Sheriff & State’s Attorney: I am a staunch supporter of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and the State’s Attorney. In a district as large as ours, law enforcement needs the personnel and technology to patrol rural roads, while our prosecutors need the resources to hold criminals accountable and keep our communities safe.
- Essential County Services: Public safety extends to the critical, behind-the-scenes work of the Coroner’s Office and the Public Defender. These departments must be funded and managed effectively to ensure justice and dignity for all residents.
- A First Responder’s Perspective: My background in emergency service means I won’t just talk about public safety—I will be an informed advocate for the tools and personnel needed to keep McHenry County one of the safest places in Illinois.
