Proven Leadership for District 8.
A Strong Voice for McHenry County.

Representing rural values. Delivering fiscal accountability.

A Strong Voice for District 8.

Leading by Example

District 8 is the geographic giant of our county. Stretching north to the Wisconsin border and west to the Boone County, it is both the largest and most rural district in McHenry County. While the eastern side of the county is defined by suburban growth, District 8 remains the agricultural and rural heart of the County. This vast area—characterized by wide-open spaces, working family farms, and historic small towns—deserves a representative who understands that the issues facing District 8 and McHenry County are unique and deserve a distinct voice in Woodstock.

Meeting Marty

Marty Mohr on the Issues

My responsibility as your board member is two-fold:

  1. District 8 Representation: I will ensure our rural district is never an afterthought. I will fight to keep local zoning in local hands, defend our agricultural heritage, and stop state overreach like the BUILD Act from infringing on our neighborhoods.
  2. County-Wide Responsibility: While I am a voice for the Northwest, my vote affects every resident and business owner in McHenry County. I am committed to managing the County’s budget with private-sector discipline, supporting law enforcement, and maintaining the infrastructure that connects our entire community.

Public service should be about duty, not perks. To ensure my focus remains entirely on the taxpayers I represent, I have made a firm pledge to refuse taxpayer-funded medical and dental benefits. I am running to be a manager of your tax dollars, not a consumer of them. By applying the same risk-management expertise I use in my professional career to our county government, I will work to keep McHenry County a safe, stable, and affordable place to live, work, and raise a family.

District 8

I am proud to represent the residents across all eight townships and six municipalities in District 8

As your representative, my first priority is ensuring that the unique needs of our rural townships—from protecting our working farmland to defending local zoning—are heard loud and clear in Woodstock.
